Danish cartoons are seen as a monolithic bloc, static and all the same. A cartoon critical of suicide bombing can be classified with and dismissed with a cartoon that criticises the publishing newspaper for being reactionary, and makes no comment about Islam or Islamism at all.<br />2. Cartoons are seen as separate and "other". They do not derive from any currents in their parent society, like humour or satire.<br />3. Cartoons are seen as inferior to Islamism. They are seen as barbaric, insulting, irrational and racist.<br />4. Cartoons are seen as violent, aggressive, "worse than 9/11", apocalyptic and part of a "clash of civilisations".<br />5. Cartoons are seen as motivated by the political ideology of a "right wing newspaper" and it is seen as relevant that they were published in a country that has an official Nazi Party.<br />6. Criticisms of Islamism made through the medium of cartoons are rejected out of hand.<br />7. Hostility towards cartoons is used to justify ever new restrictions on freedom of speech and expression, and to justify the increasing ghettoisation of society.<br />8.
